Marko Orso

We went to New York in January for our friend Marko Orso's thesis show.
I first met Marko in college, in 1998. He was a room mate of a friend of mine named Tyson. When neither one of us knew the other very well, we traveled together to meet Tyson and some other friends in Costa Rica together. Marko is the greatest guy. We have been good friends ever since.

Marko is getting his MFA in sculpture from Pratt in Brooklyn. I love everything he makes.
I am lucky enough to have a few of his works in my house. Marko had been working day in and day out; nights, and everything in between to finish everything in the show.

We got in to Brooklyn late Saturday night. Sunday morning we got up early and helped him put things together for the Monday night show. Nick, Jeff, Hannah, Megan, Marco G., Erte, and I were on the construction team...

Monday Night was the opening.
Everything looked so good.
I was really proud for Marko.
We all celebrated and snuck beers from the back room.

After the show we all headed to Alberto and Jeff's place for some cheese and Whiskey.
They Have an incredible place in the Clock building in Brooklyn.

Marko made some truly impressive sculptures. He has come so far as an artist and we were so happy that we got to be there with him.
It was a great trip, and I can't wait to go back to see my friends there.
No White Castle next time though.
